The Randolph Mountain Club is the ultimate example of an all-volunteer Mountain Club in the USA. Located in the center of the Northern Presidentials of New Hampshire's White Mountains, they are volunteer stewards of the paths and trails that traverse their rugged and beautiful countryside. The members maintain two timberline camps, the Grey Knob and Crag Camp, and several other shelters. They have recently put an RMC website together, (thanks to Jeff Smith), and it looks to be quite excellent. His previous site, A hikers Guide to the White Mountains, is still around; both are worth a visit.
